Warts

A wart is generally a small, rough growth, typically on a human’s hands or feet but often other locations, that can resemble a cauliflower or a solid blister. They are caused by one of the many types of human papillomavirus (HPV). All warts can spread from one part of your body to another. Warts may be spread from person to person but this is uncommon.

  1. Common wart , a raised wart with roughened surface, most common on hands, but can grow anywhere on the body
  2. Flat wart , a small, smooth flattened wart, flesh-coloured, which can occur in large numbers; most common on the face, neck, hands, wrists and knees
  3. Filiform or digitate wart, a thread- or finger-like wart, most common on the face, especially near the eyelids and lips
  4. Genital wart a wart that occurs on the genitalia.
  5. Mosaic wart, a group of tightly clustered plantar-type warts, commonly on the hands or soles of the feet.

Skin tags:

Skin tags are harmless growths that are common, acquired, benign skin growths which looks like a small piece of soft, hanging skin. The medical name for skin tag is acrochordon.

Causes:

  1. People who are overweight and obese
  2. Pregnant women may be of harmones
  3. Individuals with diabetes.
  4. People with the human papilloma virus.

Locations: Skin tags typically occur in the base of the neck, underarms, eyelids, groin folds, and under the breasts (especially where underwire bras rub directly beneath the breasts).

Because tags are benign, treatment is unnecessary unless the tags become frequently irritated or present a cosmetic concern. If removal is desired or warranted.
